Superintendent
Instructor: Dr. Ron Hargrave

On behalf of the Board of Education, administration, and staff, welcome to Scotland County Schools.

As your superintendent, and more importantly as your partner in education, I share your deep commitment to ensuring that your child and every learner is inspired, challenged, and engaged every day.  I promise that our focus and commitment will be unwavering when striving to prepare our students to be college and career ready.  Our administration and staff also dedicate themselves to nurture, engage, and inspire students daily to help ensure that EVERY child fulfills his or her dream.

However we are also aware that locally, nationally, and indeed globally we face many challenges.  We view these challenges as opportunities and take great pride in the progress that we are making.  We encourage our parents, guardians, and community members to visit and volunteer in our schools and become involved in student learning.  We are all essential partners in the education of our youth.

Thank you again for your interest in our school district and for your support of our students and staff.  I am confident that working together, we can provide the best education for each and every child in our community.

Best regards,
Ron Hargrave, Ed.D.

Goals for the District/Questions and Answers for the Superintendent
Dr. Ron Hargrave began his tenure as Superintendent of Scotland County Schools on June 1, 2014. One of his first missions was to meet with administration and staff from each school and department. During these meetings, Dr. Hargrave was able to gain feedback from employees as to what they believed his, and our districtís primary goals should be for this next school year. Staff were also able to anonymously pose questions to Dr. Hargrave as well.

Dr. Hargrave worked with the Teacher of the Year representatives from each of the schools to arrange the goals into common themes and prioritize the questions. Click here for the presentation of the goals set forth for the 2014-15 school year and the questions and the answers to the questions asked by district staff.
